7am
17.5 degrees, clear sky & breezy. Sent Libby a text for her birthday. Rang
Rick as it was his 60th so that was special.
Kev
and Linda rang – Bob and Margaret were visiting them. They have a couple of
house sits again for the next couple of months. Looking forward to catching up
with them all again.
Back
into town to watch the Bathurst broadcast – Top 10 Shootout day but there was
lots of other stuff to watch as well. The shootout was amazing as Scotty
managed to break that record too with a 2.03.831 – really an Amazing Lap of the
Gods. We were there in 2003 when Murphy (also a Kiwi like Scotty) posted what
they thought then was a Lap of the Gods with a 2.06. Ian Geoghanan did a lap
back in the 60s in 3.21 minutes so when you think of the cars they did it in
they were amazing back then.
Sent
off WOW texts to Brian, Ian, Lou and Fozzy who we would normally have been
watching the racing with. Ian and Lou texted back so we gave them a call. Ian
and Brian are planning to go to the next Endurance race on the Gold Coast in 2
weeks. Lou was busy as speedway with the Tom Casey Memorial Formula 500 race
meeting.
Back
to our camp spot again for the night though it will be early to bed tonight as
we are getting up at 4am to go back into town so we can watch the broadcast for
the Great Race from 4.30am – due to the time difference!!
NO
PHOTOS TODAY.
