Mon, 13th July, 2015 Butts Reserve Camping Area, Mt Tarrengower, Maldon

11 degrees inside at 8am and 5.5 degrees outside. Lots of strong wind gusts through the night but all good. A few light showers of rain.

Headed to Maryborough with the sun peeking through the clouds. We could see the towers on Mt Tarrengower. Hopefully it will still be clear when we get back.

Through Newstead and Carisbrook – I will have to come back and do the history walks around these towns.

Into Maryborough to stock up on food, fuel for truck, heater and generator. Found a caravan place to get some window catches – one had broken the other day. Stopped at the railway station to show Steve but you can only get inside when a train leaves as the cafĂ©, shops etc are being refurbished.

Nice day out wandering around the shops though it is very cold outside, the shops are lovely and warm.

After lunch we checked out a couple of carpet places – thinking of putting a runner of carpet on the floor to stop the cold coming up. The misty rain has arrived as we head for home. Got a photo of Mt Tarrengower. You can just make out the towers on top.

The rain had settled in though as we got back to Maldon. Unloaded everything and restacked the fridge and cupboards. Bought a set of scales to measure our bags to go home – oh yeah and to get ourselves back on track!!!

Leanne & Rick rang for info about the van heater. Great to hear from there. Looking forward to catching up in October at Bathurst.

Tried to ring Sarah to wish her a wonderful trip as she heads overseas to travel and work. Left her a message instead. Kaylene texted so rang her back for a chat. Texted Wendy to get her to give Sarah a hug goodbye from us. Will ring Wendy tomorrow to see how she is.

A few more light showers of rain so no fire tonight again.
