Sat, 25th July, 2015 Huntly Lions Park, Huntly to Dargile Reserve, Heathcote-Graytown National Park

Grey morning after rain through the night. Only a small camp spot here and quite noisy near the main road. Went over to say hi to the other van who had Qld plates and it was a couple we met at Waanyarra. They headed off just after we got there to get repairs done on their new van in Melbourne. They were heading to Whipstick to detect.

We headed into Bendigo to buy a new TV. Harvey Norman had a 22inch on sale for $395 and then he dropped the price to $347. The box price says $415.

Got the door locks exchanged at Autobarn since the ones we bought on Mornington Peninsula wouldn’t work – they replaced them, no problems.

Got our groceries and a hot chook and buns for lunch. We also grabbed some $1 chips from KFC – their advert on TV has worked well. Their spices are so yum but they were not hot and crunchy!!

Topped up the fuel, genie and heater fuel and exchanged our gas bottle.

Dumped the toilet at the Showgrounds then headed back to the van.

Loved this old building on the main road. Langley Hall built in 1904. Reminds me of Millaa house – looking forward to driving up and seeing how Ian is progressing with its restoration when we get home.

Took a photo of camp as it was too late and wet when we arrived yesterday afternoon.

Packed all the groceries away and bagged all the meat – just love my vacuum sealer. Steve put in the new TV and it works well and is bigger but still fits in ok. He just has to raise the bracket a bit so we can get our support cushion underneath (for when we are driving).

Kate and Tony rang from Whroo – they haven’t found any gold yet. They might head back to Maryborough. We decided to head to Heathcote as I wanted to check out some things there. We can camp in the National Park and it is sort of on the way to Whroo. Got there by 5.30 and parked in between the trees – Steve making sure no branches were going to fall on us.

Enjoyed watching our new TV. Janet texted that the family is gathering for Roz’s birthday on the 2nd of August if we were nearby.
