Thurs, 28th July, 2016 Bush camp, Mosquito Creek Goldfields, NE of Nullagine, WA

7am 18 degrees, clear sky and no wind, Yeah!

Jeff headed off early to his new area. We headed back to the van spot. Ray and Carol were there already but detecting the hills so we went to the scraped area. The wind came up again but not as bad. Steve called for me to come up the hillside to where he had a really good signal. He had gone back to the truck for the camera and pin-pointer so he is hopeful. When he used the pin-pointer though the signal wasn’t down the hole but on the side again. Luckily this time it turned out to be gold not a can. A flat dirty piece.

Had a good day detecting. I ended up with 16 pieces for 3.01 grams. My best yet.

Steve’s four bits came to 4.16 grams.

We drove back to Ray and Carol’s van and I downloaded a few of the TV Series and movies they had and Ray chose some of ours. We chatted while I did the downloads. They have been here for 6 weeks and ended up with 4 ounces. They had got one ounce off the bulldozer scraped area we were today – shame we were a couple days too late!!

The sun had gone down by the time we got back to the van. Jeff had just arrived back – he had a good day too.

A beautiful night, still and clear sky.
