Mon, 1st August, 2016 Bush camp, Mosquito Creek Goldfields, NE of Nullagine, WA

Didn’t get much sleep as the wind just howled all night and the awning flapped around. Should have taken it down!!

7am 17 degrees, clear sky still and the strongest wind yet. We put down the awning etc in between gusts. Back into jeans and jumpers.

No detecting in this wind. I baked some Anzac cookies then did some washing. Steve helped Jeff patch his flat tyre.

Did some washing as the sun was out and the wind should dry the clothes quickly as long has I can keep them pegged on the line!!

Drove back to internet hill and was able to get online and upload my blog. Got everything done except the CBA was down!! Rang Jon as I see he has a new girlfriend – Jess Mann. She sounds lovely.

Continued down the road to try and find the other Lindons areas. Followed tracks up and down hills, through creeks till we found a mine area but not sure if it was the Lindons one. Tried another track and found a few scrapes but not what we were told so headed back to camp.

Jeff had stayed near camp and detected in the creek where Allan had found his big two nuggets (7 ounces) and came back with his own little haul. He asked Steve if he wanted to work with him digging out the bank tomorrow and going halves in the spoils. Sounds good.

Still very windy and cold so no fire to sit around tonight. 20 degrees in the van though as I had it all shut up.

NO PHOTOS TODAY.
