7.30am
16 degrees, clear sky and still windy.
Headed
back to our scrapes so I could grid where Steve got his nuglets. Had to use our
earphones as the wind was blowing hard.
I
got 8 pieces for 1.87g and Steve got 6 for 1.35g.
He
also found more Devil’s Dice and a cluster of them in Calcrete.
Back
to the van for lunch – 26 degrees and windy.
We
headed back to the same area but closer to the Main Roads area so I could go
over the scrapes we got a couple off yesterday and Steve was going to go over
the big hole they had dug for road base. Just as we parked a Council car and
fuel truck arrived to do maintenance!! We both then worked the scrapes area but
found no gold!!
Back
to camp to grab our drinks to meet up with Mel and Sandra again. We were a bit
early and they were still detecting up on their hill. We continued back towards
town and Steve detected some scrapes while I sat in the truck chatting. Tried
Wendy again – she is a hard girl to catch. Rang Robert & Robyn at Mosquito
Ck to see when they were heading this way – Monday. Had a lovely long chat with
Jenny. Steve came back with three nuglets (0.67g) so that built his tally to
2.02g for the day.
Mel
and Sandra were back so joined them for drinks. Jeff rang while we were there
so we caught up on his detecting at Ruby Well – not the greatest but he is
doing ok.
Back
home after dark – too much chatting and drinking!! Luckily it was stew
leftovers tonight. Still blowing hard and quite cool.
