Fri, 20th Sept, 2019 Housesit for Mickey & Chris, Sandstone, WA

6.30am 7.7 degrees, clear sky and windy. The van has been closed up since yesterday – such a change from having everything open. I had to dig out the winter woollies again!

7.30am the sun warmed the van up to 10 degrees so we got up for breakfast. Put on long pants and jumper as it isn’t supposed to get over 20 today!!

Cleaned the rooms and the house while Steve mowed the lawns.

I cleaned out the front of the truck while Steve ran a cable to put a rear vision camera on the back of the van. We had bought a 4 pack when we needed to replace the truck ones so he thought it was about time we had one on the van.

No guests this afternoon so we had a quiet afternoon. I rang Margaret and Bob as she had sent a lengthy message via Messenger. Bob has been busy fixing the van ready for another trip soon. They are looking forward to having me stay before I fly home in October. They said there was a shooting in Geraldton – a policeman shot a lady who was aboriginal descent – she was just out of jail and had a knife. The place is crawling with police to try and stop any riots etc. Hope Mickey and Chris are ok as they were going into Geraldton today for fruit and vegies.

Dinner and movies inside then out to the cold van – should have put the diesel heater on!

NO PHOTOS TODAY.
