Sat, 21st Sept, 2019 Housesit for Mickey & Chris, Sandstone, WA

7am 10 degrees, windy and a few clouds.

7.30am the sun had warmed the van up to 13 degrees so we got up. Forecast for 6 degrees at 5am tomorrow morning – won’t be rushing out of bed.

I put our washing on and did some final cleaning ready for Mickey and Chris to come home this afternoon.

Sent Tom a happy birthday text – hope he finds a good nugget today.

Steve pottered about fixing a few bits and pieces and had a sweep out in Chris’ shed.

The cold wind lessened in the afternoon. After smoko I made pumpkin soup to have with dinner tonight.

No guests were booked in but in the end had three rooms taken with people just calling in.

Rang Mum and Dad to tell her about our cold weather. Pete had rung to say Wally had another stroke and was in hospital. He isn’t well but the pacemaker is keeping his heart going which probably at this stage isn’t a nice thing for Wally who is 92.

Mickey, Chris and the dogs arrived home. Silly emu tried to join them on the bonnet too.

Hooked up the fridges then went inside for a drink and chat. Mickey wasn’t able to get my wine as the grog shops were shut down in Geraldton due to the shooting. She said it was quite scary in town.

Enjoyed our pumpkin soup and bread then some yummy huge bacon and cheese sausage rolls that Mickey brought home. Had a great night drinking and chatting.

10pm 15 degrees in the van. Nice hot shower then into bed.

NO PHOTOS TODAY.
