Mon, 23rd Sept, 2019 Mickey & Chris’ place, Sandstone, WA (Brian’s birthday)

7am 15 degrees, clear sky and breezy – the weather will start to warm up over the next week.

Rang Brian for his birthday. He was getting exercise reading the gas meters so we didn’t chat for long. I will see him when I am home.

Quiet morning updating my blog etc. Steve continued with his new book. He enjoys David Baldacci books better than Dan Browns.

Checked on Tengraph for other places to detect. Mickey knows the manager of the company that has all the exploration leases around here so she rang him about us. I sent him an email and he gave us permission to detect on the leases. That way we can wander about and not worry too much about where we are as the leases are huge. With Happy Prospector App we can see where the smaller mining or prospecting leases are so that we don’t go on them. The pastoral station that surrounds Sandstone is Black Hill and the caretaker called in to pick up a parcel so Mickey introduced us and said we were going detecting. So we have all the bases covered. Now we just have to stumble over some gold – this was a very popular place with detectorists so we don’t expect to find much.

After lunch I made up a big batch of Mum’s sweet curried sausages in the Ecopot for all of us for dinner.

Went detecting but no joy.

Home for drinks. The wind has settled so it was very pleasant outside.

We all enjoyed my dinner then watched the new movie about Elton John’s life. Very interesting.

10pm 19.3 degrees with the windows closed in the van.

NO PHOTOS TODAY.
