Fri, 3rd
Rain continued through the night and it is bleak and cold this morning. No walks this morning. Good day for reading and cross-stitching for me.
The rain has soaked into the moved sand and settled it which is good.
Steve and Terry headed down to Howard to get some more retaining wall bricks so Steve can finish that job and I can make a garden for the remaining desert roses.
The misty rain continued all day so I got a lot of cross stitching done. Steve checked our fishing gear ready for our visit to East Arnhem Land in August.
In the late afternoon it cleared a bit so Steve finished off the retaining wall. They couldn’t get all the same colour so he swapped a few around so they lighter colours were spaced between the others. Looks very nice.
Rain started again so drinks at home and a nice hot dinner.
Sat, 4th
Overcast again but not raining. Had another sleep-in so went for our walk after breakfast. Tide still out so we could walk along the beach.
Steve made me a garden bed beside the retaining wall to plant the rest of Erica’s desert roses there. In the future the boys will bring all the rocks she and Terry collected over the years from the Bundy house garden and put them along the top of the retaining wall area.
Brenda and Phil called for a chat at morning tea. After that we planted the desert roses and put some grass clippings that had died off around them. They are looking better after the rain water yesterday. Hope they like it here.
Fran sent some photos of Sophia - growing well.
Quiet afternoon doing my cross-stitch etc.
