8am 37 degrees, windy, sunny with a few clouds. Got a few messages from Facebook with the phone plugged into the aerial but only in the early hours - nothing drastic which is good.
We got out the washing machine and got that job done. Didn’t take long for everything to dry in this weather.
Another good day to read and swim as the temperature and hot wind blew. Luckily the ‘fishtank’ has cleared and the fish are back. I swim out quickly to the middle so they don’t nibble my toes. A lady arrived with three lads and we chatted for a while as the boys swung off the tree rope and climbed and jumped off the cliff wall.
More clouds coming over during the day. The temp climbed to 45 degrees with gusting wind from all directions.
A few chaps from a road crew called in for a chat. Wanted to know about the truck. They can’t work as there is a fire ban from the heat - just in case they start a fire with their machinery. They said there is a cyclone off the coast and Karratha has had a dumping of rain but the cyclone is heading out to sea.
Darker clouds building to the west. A couple of ladies and a young lad arrived - having a go at camping out with their tent. Not the best day to try that but they had a great time swimming and laughing so the heat isn’t worrying them much.
Now it is all quiet again. A couple of 28s came down to the water’s edge for a drink in the late afternoon then a flock of small birds like sparrows took to the sky. Hadn’t seen them here before. There are some ‘hawks’ nesting up high on the cliff and they float around up high which is nice to watch while I am floating in the water.
A couple of ducks swam past too then back again. To top it off a male Blue Wren and his girls came bouncing along near us then disappeared under the camper - they are so cute. Mr Lizard did his daily runs around the campground too.
The wind has stopped so I got a couple of good refection photos.
Cooked up the other two crayfish for dinner since I enjoyed it last night. Thanks Daniel & Lee-Anne.
7pm still 38 degrees in the camper. A bit cooler outside!
