Tues, 21st Jan, 2025 Ellendale Pool Campground (Greenough River), west of Cape Burney to 24hr RV Stop, Geraldton, WA

28.7 degrees min, overcast and no wind when we got up.

The sun has started beating through the clouds and the breeze came up about 9am. Steve did my hair so another job done!!

Packed up after smoko and headed back to Geraldton. Parked under a shady tree at the Point Moore carpark. This used to be o’nite RV stop but closed now. Nice breeze blowing off the sea - cooler than inland. I checked the forecast for Mullewa and south to Wubin over the next week and it was going to be over 40 each day so we decided to stick to the coast and head back to Mandurah. No point sightseeing in very hot weather and we have to consider the heat on the auto transmission. I had come down that road on the bus a few years back but of course I didn’t get to take any photos or read the history!!

Margaret sent a message that the new part had arrived so Steve will put that on and then we can wander a bit and make sure it will be of benefit once we get the new lock-up replaced in the torque convertor.

I caught up on my blog, Facebook, banking etc. Cyclone Sean has gone out to sea so no worry about that. Steve chatted with a chap having issues with his car.

After lunch and read for a while. 38 degrees but the breeze is nice.

Back into town for a few fruit and veggies then topped up the water and chose a spot in the RV Stop. Nice strong coolish wind here which is nice but we have the roar of the fans on the shed again - I said to Steve, it just sounds like the roar of the waves at Coronation Beach.

The ranger came by and took our rego. Obviously not worried about the self-contained bit as there is a normal 4WD and a back-packer van that doesn’t look like it has a toilet but oh well, it isn’t tourist time.

We had a cuppa and read for a while - need to get Steve some more books! Sent a happy birthday text to Wendy B for yesterday and one to Tenille for today now we have better phone reception.

As the sun lowered and it got a bit cooler we walked into town and back then out the jetty to get some exercise. No sea lions on the rocks again but the lady said there was some yesterday. Maybe too warm for them - no need for a flanny shirt like we did when we were here a week ago!

Took a photo of camp as we walked back - more back-packers have arrived.

Drinks then watched a movie. Some ‘lads’ came in with their very loud 4WDs and revved them till a chap from a van went over and chatted them. Luckily they were good and left without too much fuss.

A bit cooler for sleeping tonight which is good.
