18 degree min, clear sky and light breeze from the east.
8am the breeze has become a very strong wind and it is now 30 degrees!
10am it has climbed to 40 degrees - very hot wind.
Walked around to the office to say good morning to Lee-Anne - nice and cool in the air conditioning. Daniel was around at the house they are renovating so Steve went around to check it out.
I went back to the camper and got my camp chair out and relaxed in the shade of the BBQ area and read my book.
11am the wind changed direction and you can feel the coolness of the sea breeze and hear the roar of the surf. The temp dropped two degrees straight away in the camper. Much better. I don’t mind heat but this is a bit too hot. Luckily we don’t have any plans so can just wait it out. Tomorrow is supposed to be only 30 degrees. Such up and down temps here.
I rang Wendy and got her and David as they were driving around Devonport. They had a good cruise over to Tassie during the day. The weather is looking good so they might go to Cradle Mountain first. Reminded them of a few must-see things and they are going to try and catch up with Ron & John at the Wooden Boat Festival in Feb too.
Tried Kaylene but no answer so then rang Rebecca. They had a great Christmas & New Year. Watched the fireworks from a cruise boat on Sydney Harbour which was amazing.
Kaylene rang back after lunch so we chatted with her and Rick about their recent trip to her Mum in Melbourne. A few more days of holidays then back to the school room for Kaylene. Rick is back at work again.
Relaxing afternoon reading. Still hot but the sea breeze makes it bearable.
5pm clouds are coming over and the wind has dropped off.
Lee-Anne and Daniel arrived with drinks and BBQ dinner - steaks, crayfish & salad. I even had some crayfish and cooked on the BBQ it was very nice. They got 3 crays this morning. I pulled out my frozen cheesecakes for dessert. We chatted into the night.
Still 26 degrees in the camper at 10.30pm - overcast.
