Beau is 5 months old today - they are growing up so quickly.
Up early to go fishing with Mike. Anne having a rest day. Cloudy and a light breeze. We went right across the bay to where the camper behind Mike had caught some queenfish yesterday around low tide. He had said off an island so we went to what Mike thought but no birds diving or bait so we went across to another spot but nothing there. Headed back to the first spot then we noticed a couple of birds and some fish chasing bait so out with the rods and we trolled through them.
A boat went in close to shore - a few locals have come out in their bigger boats. Spotted a long black thing near the bank and realised it was a croc. Zoomed in on him and got a couple of photos before he disappeared.
Later on we saw a croc around the other side - might have been the same one. They certainly weren’t worrying anyone.
No queenfish for us but Steve and I caught a small spanish mackerel each and Mike got 5 so he has the lucky lure. Ron and Jenny came out later and got a nice size queenfish but that was all. The wind came up again so we headed back with it blowing us back across the bay so it wasn’t too bad a trip back. Filleted the fish sheltered near a bay as you can’t fillet them back at the boat club - brings in the crocs too.
Back for a late lunch. I got 3 meals from our 2 fish - already had mince out so we will have some tomorrow night. Relaxed for the afternoon and wrote some more blog.
Drinks with the others then back to the camper for dinner.
