Thurs, 7th
Steve worked on the truck and I did some blogging. Bob & Margaret went off to the doctors - Bob is having one knee replaced and they have booked him in on the 12th Dec so not long to think about it.
After lunch I baked then prepared zucchini slice and braised steak for dinner for us all. Hot in the camper with the oven going though it was only a max of 23 today. Haven’t had the windows open much lately!!
Lovely video chat with Jon, Annalise and watch Beau having his dinner.
Fri, 8th
Light rain shower started at 3am. Dark clouds and thunder in the morning coming from the north but going eastward so missing us with the rain.
Steve has a head cold so dug out some things for him to take.
The storm disappeared and the sky is clear and blue again here but there is still a band of white clouds to the north.
I finished off the Christmas ‘stocking’ cross-stitches I am making for my grandbabies. Margaret sewed them up for me - she has a fabulous sewing room and does all kinds of craft.
Will post them off in early December so they can hang them on their trees.
Drinks watching the news - still more America election stuff. Can’t believe Trump got back in.
Margaret cooked fish and chips for dinner - their usual Friday night tradition so I said I will do Spag Bol on Sunday as that was our family tradition.
Sat, 9th
The sun up early (5.30am) and shining brightly but it’s still cool so we linger in bed till it has warmed up. There are a few puffy clouds about.
Sophia is 8 months old today. Will have a video chat with them later today.
Rebecca and Clive sent a message - they are grandparents again. Megan and Andre had a little girl, Elizabeth, yesterday. Big brother Theo will be impressed. Glad they were able to meet her before they head over to Lord Howe Island for a holiday soon.
Into town for some bits and pieces.
After lunch I started cleaning the camper and Steve degreased the truck and gave it a clean. Needs a good polish now. Steve’s cold is still lingering but it isn’t the flu so he can carry on.
Lovely video chat with Dan, Fran and watching Sophia bounce away in her jolly jumper.
Sun, 10th
Cool 13 min but nice 24 by the time we got up with the camper all closed up. Clear sky.
I continued with cleaning the camper and put all the sheets, blankets and towels in Margaret’s big washing machine. Steve worked on the truck.
Lovely warmer day though it says only 29 degrees in the camper though I have opened some windows.
Jon and Annalise sent photos and videos of Beau’s first tube ride up the dam. He has such strong legs and just stands in his jolly jumper now rather than bouncing! 8 months old tomorrow!
I cooked Spag Bol then joined Bob and Margaret to watch the Edinburgh Tattoo. Some tradition bagpipes, drums etc but a few acts of more modern music etc from visiting countries, India, USA and Sweden. Very good.
Mon, 11th
We washed the outside of the camper in the warm sunshine today. All clean in and out now. Gave the truck a clean inside too. Both just need polishing but will do that another time when Steve feeling better as the head cold is still lingering.
4pm the coolness arrives so closed up the camper again before heading upstairs for drinks with Bob and Margaret.
Tues, 12th
Overcast morning and now I think I am getting Steve’s head cold!!
I worked on my blog etc and Steve read then pottered about. We will head off for a ‘trip’ with Bob & Margaret on Thursday to go down south and do some fishing.
By lunch time the sky has cleared and it is a warmer day.
I walked down to the beach. Steve had said to take my flannelette shirt which I was glad I did as the wind is quite cold. Only a few people on the beach walking their dogs.
Back home for a cuppa then upstairs for drinks and see what’s happening on the news.
Wed, 13th
Windy this morning with clear blue sky. Still cool at 5am but by the time we get up it is warming up enough to open a window!
Into town to pick up a few groceries then we loaded the camper back onto the truck. High rise apartment again now.
Kev’s birthday so sent him a message - out fishing and he caught a few good ones too.
Margaret cooked a yummy dinner for us all. We will head off tomorrow for a meander down south and hopefully catch some fish.
