Thurs, 12th Mar, 2015 Northeast Park, Scottsdale (Mick & Anne, Bridport)

Slept in as we were up very late watching a James Bond movie. It was raining when we went to bed but it is lovely now. Rang Mum to check if they had web feet yet from all the rain from Cyclone Nathan.

Sent a text to Valerie as Lauren was due to have her baby today. Hope all goes well.

Mick called in for a chat and invited for the afternoon and dinner. After Mick telling Steve about all the rings, coins etc he has found Steve decided to get out the detector and see what might be hiding in the park while I caught up on the Blog. Unfortunately not much other than ring pulls etc.

Washing all dry and put away so we had lunch. The ducklings and ducks called in and enjoyed some lettuce and corn. The ducklings were braver and got a big feed.

As we headed off to Bridport we spotted this bus. Looks like a sun deck on the top.

Drove around Scottsdale checking out the old world charm of the houses (1880s). Stopped to check out the timber carvings in the RSL Memorial Park. They are remarkable.

On the other side of the park was another carving - Simpson and His Donkey.

Along a nice straight bit of road through lots of farms as we headed to Bridport. Over Brid River which of course flows into Bridport. Found Mick and Anne’s place. He has just bought a new smaller van to do a trip to the Kimberleys in July so he and Steve had fun going over it all. Anne is lovely and we had a lovely time chatting though she had a lot on her plate with Mick’s mum in hospital and all the fun of sorting out doctors etc.

They have a marvellous view over Anderson Bay and out to Waterhouse Island and on a good day you can make out Flinders Island. Should have taken some photos!!

Lovely dinner of flake, caught by Mick, and scallops and salad. They have invited us to join them for Easter at Ansons Bay, where they have a shack and do some fishing which will be great. Lovely night. Headed back to Scottsdale in the dark – a first for us since we are normally in the van!! No animals on the road, we thought we might have seen a Tassie Devil.

Text from Valerie to say Lauren and Dean have a beautiful little girl, Mia Violet, 9lb 3oz. Text from Pete and Penny and they are at Waratah and managed to camp for free next to the lake!!! Cool night but not cold.
