Thurs, 5th Mar, 2015 Boat Harbour Beach RV Stop to Forth Recreation Ground

Woke to bright sunshine and clear blue sky but it is only 13 degrees at 8am!!! Enjoyed breakfast with the sun pouring in the window of the van to warm us up. Then the rain pelts down – don’t know where that came from.

We went for a walk down the beach, all rugged up again.

We were standing on the viewing platform and getting wet. The cloud was so far away but the wind was carrying it to us miles away!! You can just see the rainbow.

Tide out.

Cute little sheds and a boat house. Someone is living in the little house at the end.

Steve found a star fish in a rock pool.

This construction will become 5 new units selling for $888,000 each!!!

Just down from that is this old one that someone is trying to fix up but we think it might be a lost cause.

Back for a cuppa and pack up to head into Forth to meet up with Leanne & Rick. Up the narrow road again and luckily we didn’t meet anybody coming down.

Certainly was the prettiest beach we have seen so far, especially when the sea looks so great.

The cows etc have the best views around here.

The wind has changed direction and is getting stronger. Buffeting the van as we head along the highway. It is a lovely drive along the coast to Burnie. Stopped at Cooee Point to top up on water etc.

Along the coast again then up the range behind Penguin. Turned off the motorway before Turners Beach and down along the farmland on the west side of the Forth River. Into Forth “The Village by the River” to stop at the Recreation Ground. Nice spot and the river runs along the side but there is a big fence stopping us going down to the river. Parked near a big maple tree. The wind is still strong and freezing.

Chatting with a neighbour who said he saw snow on the Western Tiers as he left Deloraine this morning.

Leanne & Rick arrived after lunch. Wind still howling and it is getting colder as dark clouds came over.

Wendy from Tuckshop sent photos of the changes that the girls have made to cope with the grade 7s and trying to keep up with feeding all the students quickly. Do miss the gang and the fun we had.

Tash and Jon rang for a chat.

Kept the van all closed up while cooking dinner so it is still 18 degrees in here when we get ready for bed.
