Tues, 16th May, 2017 Mum & Dad’s, Cairns, Qld (33 months on the road)

Lovely cool clear morning. 33 months since we left home or should I say started our new life in a caravan. Still loving it but it is wonderful to be able to pop back to Cairns for visits.

Mr Chook – the scrub hen goes off every morning scratching in the leaves on the flat block at the bottom of the hill beside us – sounds like he is under my window. Bla blak blak  - sounds so funny. We might be in Cairns but the bird life here is so loud you think you are in the scrub – kookaburras laughing all the time, curlews calling through the night, lorikeets, cockatoos and all the little birds tweeting – sunbirds, willy wagtails etc. Mind you the road noise coming up the hill from the main road reminds me of all the traffic in Cairns now.

Going to be 30 degrees max today. Checked at Leonora where Steve is and it will only get to 20 with overnight of 9 degrees – going to be hard when I go back!!

Did some more family history photos then popped into Pinks for a cuppa.

Ordered Dan’s cheesecake for his birthday. Bumped into Sonia and chatted for a bit. All good with her family and Bill and Lyn.

More family history photos – got the Miller family photos sorted, now to do the huge pile of Geck ones.

Cooked schnitzels topped with pasta sauce, bacon and cheese with vegies for dinner – yum.

Valerie picked me up for cuppa and chat with Susan and Christine at Cazalys. Had a play on the pokies too and got a $1 drop for my 2 cent bet then a $5 win for 5 cent bet so that was good.

NO PHOTOS TODAY.
