Fri, 4th Jan, 2019 10 Mile Outcamp, Tarmoola Station, 60km north of Leonora, WA (exploring)

7am 23 degrees, cloudy and a very strong south-east cold wind is blowing. What a change from being so hot. Had to close the windows as it was so cold!!

Packed our lunch etc and headed out for a day exploring and detecting.

Lovely cooler day as we drove around looking a different places. Found some history information at Bundarra. It was the hotel then became the homestead for a pastoralist.

Imagine how this looked back in the day with the tennis courts on one side, the house in the middle and a few sheds on the other.

Anyone for tennis. Mum and Dad will be enjoying all the tennis on TV at the moment.

Walked around the back of the house which had a wide concrete verandah and a big tank stand.

Up the track a bit is the remains of the Great Western Mine which the hotel was named after originally. Checked out the well or was that the mine shaft – a long way day. The old car was used for racing as it had a roll cage and signwriting on the side.

Continued along the track and found a line of shafts.

The sky cleared a bit with the strong wind blowing. Headed back for drinks – no need to cool off in the pool today.

6.30pm 30 degrees – very nice.

Lovely sunset colours on the clouds.

The wind stopped after dinner. 10.30pm 27 degrees – lovely.
