Tues, 8th Jan, 2019 10 Mile Outcamp, Tarmoola Station, 60km north of Leonora, WA

7am 28 degrees, clear sky, cool gusty breeze.

Headed off to put up the rest of the fencing. Glen’s Bore enclosed – the bore head is further over which Steve has covered with a 44 gallon drum. I am getting the hang of the ‘twitching’ – using the pliers to turn the wire so it secures the fence in place.

Checked on St Patricks. The water pod is full and overflowing so it is all good for the time being.

Wispy clouds make a pretty photo.

Finished off O’Keefes Bore fence. It has new yards beside it with the water inside, trying to get the cattle used to the fence so they can trap them in here when they muster.

Back home for lunch in the pool at 1pm, clouds coming over. 40 degrees and gusty hot wind.

Worked on my laptop in the cottage – a couple of degrees cooler in here.

Rang Mum and Dad for a chat – all good there though it is hot, clouds building so they might get some rain soon. Ex Cyclone Penny turned and is heading back to the coast as a depression. They are enjoying the tennis. Val has decided to go into the nursing home now as she is still so frail – so glad she has made that decision herself.

Steve had made a bucket with hose to send the excess water from our tank back into the well as it was reading ‘low well’ on the solar pump some days. He decided to upgrade the hose to a bigger one as it wasn’t flowing back in quickly enough. The birds like the water though when it splashed down onto the ground.

He wasn’t happy with that so he found a big drum to make a catch tank so it can keep some head pressure to send the water back with – always thinking this boy of mine. He checked the well again and it was dry so he turned off the pump for the time being. He checked the other two bore holes which had water in them so when Rob arrives they can figure out what to do.

I worked on my blog. Rang Jon for a chat, he and Jess are good. Bandit and Lily need haircuts as with all the swimming their coats look more like dreadlocks then nice and neat.

The wind has stopped making it hot though when the sun goes behind the cloud it is much nicer. Cooled off in pool while we had our cuppa – it has been a godsend.

The fan is enough tonight though as the forecast is for more 40 degrees days we will be getting out the esky cooler to keep us comfortable. 10pm 35 degrees, no wind.
