Wed, 8th Feb, 2017 Betty’s Beach Campground, east of Albany, WA

7am 19 degrees though the sun is shining. Dark clouds came over the hill again but no rain. Still a cold wind so dug out the long pants and jumper. Weather forecast is only for 18 in Albany today!! More rain forecast for till the weekend across to Esperance so we will stay put.

A couple of vans left and new ones arrived. A grader came down the road then went back up again trying to get rid of some of the corrugations.

The internet reception is limited in the van so we drove up the hill as I had lots of photos to upload onto the blog. We parked beside a big log blocking an old 4WD track and one end had been ¾ cut with a chainsaw. Steve got out the axe and cut it off as we can have fires at Mason Bay Campground so we will need wood for that.

Nice afternoon, with the sun out and my back to the wind, reading. Steve pottered about doing some maintenance checks on the truck.

Rang Rebecca & Clive as I saw on Facebook that their daughter Ingrid got engaged – sent her a message on Facebook too. So happy for her and Aidan.

Chatted with Anna and Jeff who are travelling for a year with their 3 kids.

Back to the van and Steve had the jar of rocks with little flecks of gold out. He sorted them ready to crush then to pan off.

Wind still cold so into the van by 6pm.

NO PHOTOS TODAY.
