Fri, 9th Aug, 2019 Bush camp, 50km south of Marble Bar, WA

8am 14.6 degrees, clear sky and the strong wind is still blowing.

Went for a drive and detected. Steve got one bit at first spot then I got two bits at the next stop.

Home for lunch with the wind blowing harder which makes it hard to hear the detectors and we hate using headphones. At least there aren’t many flies about that’s one plus.

23 degrees in the van at lunch.

The phone signal comes and goes. A text came through from Jon that he had a good time fishing and they got 10 big coral trout. Hope he remembers to take some around to Mum and Dad.

Wandered around camp with our detectors making sure the other people before us haven’t left any behind. Unfortunately we only found the bits of rubbish they missed.

Played cards over drinks as it is too windy to sit outside and we can’t light the fire yet.

In the end I cooked dinner inside but Steve managed to get the bushcooker lit and got the shower water heated on that rather than an open fire where the ash could fly away and start a fire.

NO PHOTOS TODAY.
