Thurs, 1st Aug, 2019 Bush camp near Running Waters Waterhole, 100km east of Nullagine , WA

7.30am 15.4 degrees, clear sky and light breeze. Lots of birds singing which is lovely to listen to.

We did some maintenance on the van etc then drove down to the waterhole and had a restful day reading our books and chatting with the others. The breeze was cool so we were very comfortable and didn’t even have another swim as it felt quite chilly!!

Chatted with Sander for ages as he has done so much and it is very interesting hearing his tales. Steve offered for him to be able to charge his laptop and camera batteries as he needs 240v for that and we could provide that with the invertor. He seems to have everything else crammed onto his motorbike. Amazing what he fits onto it.

At lunch Steve tossed in some food for the fish – lots came and so did some catfish, a couple were quite large too. That didn’t help to get me back in the pool either!!

Wandered up to where the spring feeds the waterhole. We thought it came from the flat area off to one side where it flows down into the waterhole but this time we noticed water bubbling up from under a tree on the far bank and it was pumping out a far bit of water.

Saw farewell to the others and arranged to give Sander some fuel for his motorbike tomorrow as he noticed it drop dramatically when he was pushing through that strong head wind yesterday.

Had our drinks back in the van as the cattle moaned their way around us.

The wind has settled so it is a lovely temperature tonight.

NO PHOTOS TODAY.
