Thurs, 19th May, 2022 Bush camp by George Creek (Robin Falls), south of Adelaide River township, NT

Mum has been gone 13 months now. I think of them both often, wishing to give them a ring but I just chat to them here instead.

Cool morning. Played cards for a bit as the mozzies are zooming around outside.

Relaxing day. More people come in and out with a couple more campers pulling in.

The young couple came back from their walk up the falls. They said there were 3 couples camped right at the top. There is a track going up to it so they are going to head up there too as the others are coming out. It is a bit of a sketchy track apparently. As they packed up two ladies pulled in and parked by the pool where we had last time. They are from Darwin having a two week holiday.

The fish are enjoying the big flies I have swatted.

Another couple pulled in where the other couple pulled out. Steve saw the sign on the side of their ute - Frosty’s Aussie Adventures and said he had just seen their photo on the Gibb River FB page. When they got out I asked if they had just done the Gibb and yes was the reply. It was them so that started a great conversation about doing the Gibb. Frosty’s partner is Sarah who was happy to share good places to go etc with us.

We had dinner then wandered across to the Darwin ladies’ camp to chat around their fire with them and Frosty and Sarah. Great night under the stars and the mozzies weren’t bad at all. We have been using the Bushman’s spray which is doing the trick at keeping them away.

Got a bit nippy so headed back to the camper for a cuppa. Pulled up the light blankets when we went to bed as it is a bit fresh.
