Sat, 8th July, 2017 Bush camp, near Meekatharra, WA (Dad and Ella’s birthdays)

7am 12 degrees with a heavy fog. Rang Dad for his birthday. He had his computer back so we connected up via Facebook video and chatted for half an hour. So lovely to be able to see them and chat. Will do this once a month at least.

Back to clean up next to where Steve has been detecting this time so I dug while he detected. We were pleasantly rewarded too.

Had lunch then early showers ready for games with Tom and Sandy this afternoon.

Rang Ella for her birthday. She and Amanda were having a girls shopping weekend in Brisbane.

Played a few games of dice then the others arrived. Bruce and Wendy who are camped on the pending ground and another chap, Hayden. Then Annette and Sandy came back from detecting (they go from sun up to sun down!!) and joined us. Had a great time chatting around the fire even though there was a gusty cold wind coming through the camp. After the others left we went into the lunch room and played some more games of Skipbo – the girls won this time.
