Thurs, 25th August, 2016 Bush camp, 15km S of Marble Bar, WA (Axel’s 1st birthday)

7.30am 19.8 degrees, van all closed up because of the strong winds still. Clear sky.

Texted Rebecca to pass on our happy birthday wishes to our great-nephew, Axel. I saw him as a wee bub when we were home last year and now a whole year has passed.

Went back to the scrapes closer to Marble Bar. I only got 2 little bits for 0.28g. Steve got a nice round one (1.6g) and two others so he had a total of 2.38g for the morning.

He dropped me back at the van to catch up on my blog etc and he went off back into the hills towards the Salgash Mine again to see what he can discover. I rang Mum and Dad then Erica for lovely long chats.

Steve came back with two more bits of gold off our scrapes past Salgash Mine. He only got rubbish around the shafts so went back to our scrapes again. They came to 1.37g so he got a total of 3.75g for the day.

Still very windy and cool but lovely clear sky and so many stars.
