Tues, 30th Oct, 2018 Pastoral Station, 60km north of Sandstone,WA

6.30am 24 degrees, clear sky.

Steve had dug a hole where another fruit tree had died so Joy and I could plant a lemon tree. Collected some horse manure – plenty around – to use as fertiliser.

Helped Kayla with her school work again and played lots of games. The room is air-conditioned so we were comfortable in there.

Steve helped Lance fix one of the pumps as Joy had noticed it wasn’t working when she took Carol and Doug for a drive yesterday.

38 degrees at lunchtime. Clouding over, might get a storm tonight.

Worked on my blog while Kayla had a rest. Quite hot so I had a nice quiet dip in the spa with a cuppa while the boys were working on the 4wheeler. Steve got a lesson in using the Bobcat too.

Finished off my book then joined Kayla for another dip in the spa.

The generator was on so I took my washing up to put a load on. Hung up a line under the verandah of the guest house – won’t take long to dry.

Joined the others for drinks on the west side as dark clouds were blocking the sun and it was very pleasant with the big gum trees shading us.

As the temperature had dropped I decided to clean out the chook pen – trying to find jobs I can relieve Joy off so she can get on with more important things. Spread the hay and chook poo around some of the plants to make a barrier to help with the watering.

Put the shade cloth along the awning and sprayed it with water to keep us cool.

Warm evening – no need for hot shower tonight.

Spotted some lightning flashes to the north while we were watching TV and just after we got into bed a few drops of rain hit the roof – probably 30 drops!! Didn’t cool anything off.

NO PHOTOS TODAY.
