Alexander’s 30th birthday too so sent him a message on Facebook
as he is heading to the Philippines on the luxury yacht he works on.
Steve
coloured my hair – need to freshen it up for all the photos at the parties etc.
Had
a cuppa then headed off to do some grocery shopping.
After
lunch Kaylene and Dawn joined us for High Tea to celebrate her birthday and to
use the Shelley Tea Set Erica gave me. The last time Erica used it was with her
mother-in-law and that was a long time ago. It was only for 6 so had to use two
of Mum’s that she had since she was 16. Bought from where she was working. Jon
called in so got him to take the photos. We had a great time chatting.
They
left and I started cooking dinner to celebrate Terry and Erica’s 61st
wedding anniversary. Dan, Fran, Jon and Jess came over. Jon brought the dogs as
Lily had just been desexed and still a bit groggy so Bandit had to come too. We
all enjoyed a celebratory glass of champagne to toast this special occasion
with Terry and Erica. Jess took some photos too which were good as some of mine
were blurry.
Jon
had arranged this beautiful cake through one of his friends and it was perfect
to put the wedding cake decoration on. Erica and Terry used it in 1957, Steve
and I used it in 1983 then Brian and Margit in 1998. It came out again for
Erica and Terry’s 50th anniversary in 2007. Unfortunately we
couldn’t attend their 60th celebration or provide the decoration as
it was in a box of our stuff in storage. Hence I dug it out while we were home
so we could celebrate their 61st. Another year is always a good
reason to celebrate.
Was
a wonderful night surrounded by the family we love.
