Fri, 19th Sept, 2025 Centennial Park 72hr Rest Area, Kalgoorlie, WA

10.7 degrees min but the sun is rising earlier so it was 12 degrees by the time we got up.

Uploaded my blog then we had a quiet morning reading. Steve pottered about checking the truck and fixing a few things and chatting with people who admired our set-up.

After lunch I went for a walk to try and warm up in the sun as the breeze is still very cool. Took a photo of camp this time.

After a cuppa we went for a wander - didn’t get far when Steve noticed an old Ford in a trailer of a couple from Tassie. We stopped for a chat - here for the racing on Lake Perkolilli too. When we said our friend, Malcolm, is coming over, the chap, Tony, said he sold Malcolm the car and parts. Small world. Met his wife, Madeline. They invited us to join them for drinks with another couple in a camper (like we are going to hire in NZ) who are from North Island, NZ. David & Debbie bought their camper on the Sunshine Coast, Qld and are exploring for 7 months. I had considered that for NZ but you take the chance that the motorhome you by is a dud.

Heard from Margaret - they are at Borrobin so we will see them in the morning. Were late leaving on Thursday.

Lovely time chatting till it got too cool to be outside.
