Sat, 27th Sept, 2025 Lake Douglas Camping Reserve, west of Kalgoorlie to Centennial Park 72hr Rest Area, Kalgoorlie, WA

11.2 degrees min, clear sky.

Text from Mal with a photo of him and Steve at Bunda Cliffs. Mal forgot his drone so they didn’t get the Buick out for a run. Still 428km to go and having a great time.

We packed up and headed back into Kalgoorlie to wait for the guys to arrive. I put our chairs out nearby to bag a spot for them to park up.

I watched on the app then walked over to the park and saw the guys drive in at 12.30pm. So glad they are back safe and sound. Mal with his Buick in the back of the trailer.

The AFL Grand final is on so I got the Chrome Cast working so the guys could watch it in the camper. Margaret and I hung out in her van chatting and doing crosswords. Everyone happy as the Brisbane Lions won.

Sat outside in the shade for drinks and chatted. Lots of people stopping by to check out Mal’s Buick.

The temp dropped with the sun but it was still ok to sit outside and eat dinner with Mal. They even spotted some satellites while I was inside cooking dinner.
