Mon, 22nd Sept, 2025 Bush camp on pending lease off Bulong Road, east of Kalgoorlie, WA

10.6 degrees, overcast and windy. Put the heater on as I don’t think it is going to warm up with no sun shining.

We packed up and headed back to the main bitumen road and continued east to the other spot we found out past the old Nickel mine.

Set up camp.

After a cuppa we went wandering. I found Steve’s smiley face and after a few digs for lead shot I got a smaller little ball of gold  then another 9 lead shot! Unfortunately everyone else just got exercise and cleaned up Australia a bit more.

11am the wind picked up and blew all the clouds away.

After lunch Steve set up the washing machine and I did the washing under a clear blue sky with a gusty wind. Steve and Margaret continued wandering and did more cleaning up Australia. What a shame for Margaret - we were hoping to find a nice little patch for her.

Chatted over a cuppa in the shade then drinks by the fire again. So nice to have Margaret and Bob here with us as we won’t see them for a few years now.

Back into the camper for dinner. Margaret gave us some yummy sponge cake for dessert.
